Thirteen Ghanaians, twelve men and one woman, have started out on an epic journey from Ghana’s capital to the United Kingdom.
According to Ghana’s media outlet, their trip will span an astounding 10,000 kilometres, as they declared that their mission is clear: to drive from Accra to London while enjoying the experience.
Their arrival in London is expected to be on Sunday, August 6, or Monday, August 7, 2023, marking a historic achievement for the team.
One of the team members, Saka, spoke from Spain in an interview on Accra-based Peace FM about their motive for embarking on the risky journey.
He added that they were motivated by stories of people travelling to Ghana and other African countries from other countries.
They decided to try this journey as a fun activity, exhibiting their adventurous attitude and love of discovery.
“We are explorers and we are doing this for fun. We read about people driving from Europe to Ghana all the time, and we also planned to do it and we are almost there,” one of the explorers said.
The host, intrigued by their brave adventure and concerned about the practicalities, enquired about their visas and how they managed to cross the different countries along the way.
Many people have been captivated by the team’s brave and adventurous trip as they confront the obstacles and adventures of crossing countries and encountering other cultures on their way to London.
They are currently departing Barcelona following a brief stopover in the Spanish city.
People from all walks of life are eagerly awaiting their safe arrival in London, where they will definitely be honoured for their tremendous effort and tenacious attitude.
