Authorities said that three persons were shot and killed early on Thursday in southeast Albuquerque.
When Albuquerque police arrived on the site, they discovered three victims of gunshot wounds, according to police spokeswoman Chase Jewell. A third person passed away after being brought to the hospital, leaving two dead at the site.
Police withheld the victims’ names and any details about potential suspects until later. The investigation into the fatal shootings has been turned over to the department’s homicide section, according to Jewell.
The shooting happened at a home on the 800 block of San Mateo NE.
Officers responded to the scene at around 2:30 p.m. and found three people down inside the house.
The victims have not been identified, but police say they are all adults. No suspects have been arrested and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
This is the second deadly shooting in Albuquerque in less than a week. On Sunday, two people were killed in a shooting at a gas station on the west side of the city.
Police are asking anyone with information about the shootings to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 505-843-8477.
