Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has been referred to by the managing editor of the Custodian Newspaper, Awudu Mahama, as President Akufo-Addo’s protector.
According to Mr. Mahama, Bawumia has earned the right to be granted the chance to serve as the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer for the general elections in 2024 because of the prominent position he plays for the President.
Mr. Awudu Mahama said that calls for the vice president to lead the party are appropriate and “due to the exceptional work he has done for President Akufo-Addo” in an interview with Gordon Asare-Bediako on Movement TV’s “B3 Kyere Mu” show.
“He (Bawumia) has over the years become like a shield for the president. Kamala Harris came here and even praised him; it didn’t happen by chance. He deserves to lead the NPP due to his competence”, Mr. Awudu Mahama said.
