Following their Champions League loss to Manchester City on Tuesday, Sadio Mane, a forward for Bayern Munich, allegedly attacked teammate Leroy Sane.
According to accounts, the two players got into a fight that left Sane’s lip bleeding, and his teammates had to step in to separate the two in the locker room.
In a statement on Thursday, Bayern said, “Sadio Mané, 31, will not be included in the FC Bayern squad for this Saturday’s home match against 1899 Hoffenheim. This is due to his misconduct after Bayern’s Champions League match at Manchester City. Mané will also be given a fine.”
According to reports, Mane and Sane’s fight started toward the end of the game.
Mane was picked up individually from the airport upon their arrival back in Munich, whereas Sane rode the team bus.
According to reports, Mane and Sane apologized to the team.
