An investigation is being carried out by the Chicago Police Department following the discovery of a woman’s body inside a car on the South Side.
Around 9:30 on Tuesday morning, police were called to the 9400 block of South LaSalle Street in Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood, where they discovered a body inside an abandoned car.
In an alleyway early on Tuesday morning, Chicago police found a maroon Hyundai Sonata that appeared to have been abandoned, with a dead woman sitting in the driver’s seat.
Nearby residents discovered the car had been sitting there for a few days.
The resident claimed that there are frequently abandoned vehicles in the lot behind her home, and her daughter had contacted the police late on Monday to report one such vehicle. On Tuesday morning, police officers went outside to look into.
Police reported that while they await the findings of an autopsy, detectives are now looking into a death.
