Frank Lampard and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the club veteran to serve as interim manager till the end of the current campaign.
The patented “here we go” from Fabrizio Romano indicates that an announcement is likely to come within the next 24 hours.
Both parties should benefit greatly from the transaction, which will provide Lampard the chance to once again perform at a high level while potentially reviving the team’s spirit.
There are many quality players there; all we need is a coach who can get them back to performing at or near their best, and club veteran Lampard would be the ideal choice.
The main prospects for the position are now all unemployed: Mauricio Pochettino, Julian Nagelsmann, and Luis Enrique. However, after the disastrous way they chose to select Graham Potter, those in charge upstairs obviously enjoy the notion of giving this one some serious thought.
