After reportedly shooting at Chicago police officers on Monday night in the West Englewood neighborhood, a man was charged with attempted murder.
Around 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and discovered a guy in the 5900 block of South Ashland Avenue with an arm wound from a gunshot.
Antwon Harrison, 24, opened fire on responding officers from a car that was eluding them at the time, according to CPD.
The bullets missed the police.
Later, the car crashed in the 5900 block of South Wells Street and Harrison, arresting four additional people. There were gunshot wounds on two of the suspects. The other was shot in the arm while the first was hit in the chest.
According to authorities, they were both rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where their conditions were classified as critical and excellent, respectively.
