After discussing how his father, Senator Adeleke, constantly sending police to arrest him, top Nigerian artist Davido drew conflicting responses online.
In a recent interview with Hot 97 FM in New York, the DMW boss revealed this.
The 30 BG boss revealed in the interview that his father used to detain not only him but also those who attended his events.
Davido claimed that his father didn’t want him to perform at all when asked why his father kept sending cops to arrest him.
According to the singer, his father would send the police to arrest everyone, from the performance promoter to the individuals present at the backstage, if he saw a poster showing him performing with another well-known musician.
Davido explained that his father’s action was motivated by the fact that he was still in school at the time and that his father would not permit him to skip class to pursue music.
The musician ultimately concluded by saying that his father stopped calling the police to look for him the moment he received his high school diploma and allowed him to pursue his musical career.
He stated as follows: “My father didn’t want me performing, at all. He sent police to get me. Like he’ll see a billboard for example, ‘Davido performing, Wizkid performing.”
“He would send police to arrest everybody, the show promoter, if you’re there, if we’re backstage and we’re chatting it up, we’re gone.”
