Gifty Mawunya Dumelo, the renowned Ghanaian politician and actor John Dumelo’s wife, has been admitted to the Ghanaian bar.
On May 5, 2023, she was one of several law students who received a call to the bar.
The delighted and pleased husband posted on social media to acknowledge his wife, Gifty Dumelo.
Gifty, often known as Miss Gee, is graduating today after successfully completing her legal studies.
John posted a picture of his family at her graduation on Instagram with the caption: “Celebrating my wife’s accomplishments.”
“Congratulations my love @missgeeonly for being called to the Ghana Bar today. You are now Mrs Gifty Mawunya Dumelo Esq. I have cases for you already lol. Love you.”
Additionally, Gifty Mawunya Dumelo, Esq., wrote a moving letter detailing her experience in law school. She praised John for helping her in any way he could while they were studying together.
Her post read: “See what the Lord has done. See what the Lord has done. What I have prayed n waited for come to pass. My profound gratitude goes to the Almighty God, my mom and dad for praying without ceasing, my sisters Sena n Selassie for praying for me and with me throughout this journey and supporting me in diverse ways, my learned friends Akua B, Emefa, Susan, n Elizabeth and lastly to my husband @johndumelo1 for being my best study mate even though he is not a lawyer this man loves the law… he participated vividly in my journey and the best part of it all is his skill of chewing and pouring. Thanks Efo you are the best thing that has happened to me and I am glad you a part of my story.”
Lawyer Gifty Mawunya Nkornu is from Ghana and is based in the UK. Gifty earned her bachelor’s degree in law from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and is a graduate of Central University.
Gifty Mawunya Nkornu and John Dumelo exchanged vows on May 12 at Spintex in Accra. The pair has a boy and a daughter as their children.
