After three quarters, Denver led 83-75 before Miami went on a 32-12 run in the opening eight or so minutes of the fourth. Butler scored a three-point play and two 3-pointers to cap the run, which was highlighted by Duncan Robinson’s two treys, two layups, and three-pointer.
With 1:09 left, the Heat’s advantage was trimmed to 109-106 thanks to two three-pointers from Murray and one from Gordon. Before Murray missed his attempt to tie the game, Adebayo responded with a pair of free throws, Jokic answered with a quick jump shot.
With 2:08 remaining in the third quarter, Kyle Lowry’s 3-pointer cut the Nuggets’ advantage to 77-75 before Jokic scored the final six points of the frame.
Butler made a floating jump shot to give Miami a 21-10 lead, and Max Strus responded to a brief Denver surge with his fourth 3-pointer to increase Miami’s lead to 24-15 at the end of the first quarter.
