In spite of the painful loss in Game 2 of the NBA Finals for the Denver Nuggets, superstar center Nikola Jokic joined LeBron James and Larry Bird in NBA history as the only players to have at least 500 points, 200 rebounds, and 150 assists in a single playoff run.
On Sunday night, Jokic put on yet another outstanding effort, ending with 41 PTS, 11 REB, and 4 AST in the defeat. The Nuggets had a lead of up to 15 points, but they were unable to hold onto it. As a result, they suffered a painful loss that tied the series at one game each.
Throughout this postseason run, Jokic has continued to make history, and he most likely won’t stop anytime soon. He doesn’t care about personal honors or stats, but Denver frequently wins because of his play. Denver had numerous opportunities to win this game, but they did not take advantage of them well enough to defeat Miami.
Denver will be given a lot of attention for their inability to win this game, but the Heat deserve praise for coming back from a 15-point deficit. Denver is a very difficult place for away teams to win in, but Miami managed to tie the series going back home at one all. This was obviously a huge victory for the Heat.
Nikola Jokic becomes the 3rd player in NBA postseason history with 500 points, 200 rebounds & 150 assists in a single playoff run.
The only other players who have done so are LeBron James (4 times: 2015-18 & 2020) & Larry Bird (1987). pic.twitter.com/WWmUAvNQ1o
