According to authorities, a shooting at a vehicle dealership in southern Kentucky left one police officer injured and another man dead.
The shooting happened in Bowling Green on Thursday night, according to a statement from the Kentucky State Police. It reportedly occurred at America’s Car-Mart, according to news sources.
According to the police statement, the individual was confirmed dead at the hospital while the officer was hospitalised with life-threatening injuries. No other information regarding the shooting was immediately made public.
One of the Bowling Green Police Department’s officers was injured and in need of prayers, according to a social media post.
Despite not providing any additional information, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives tweeted that it was helping Bowling Green Police with an officer-involved shooting.
In a tweet in response to the shooting, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear pleaded for prayers for the injured police officer.
According to Kentucky State Police, the investigation is still ongoing.
