A guy allegedly threatened passengers on a train while brandishing a hatchet, according to Calgary police.
Around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, the suspect allegedly boarded a CTrain at the Martindale LRT station while brandishing a hatchet.
The person apparently then started yelling threats and was quite hostile toward the people.
The window separating the driver from the passengers was damaged, according to the police, but no one else aboard the train was hurt.
The man allegedly threatened both train passengers and bystanders even after they were able to safely exit the vehicle.
According to police, a passing motorist saw what was going on, called 911, and jumped out of their car to try to restrain the suspect until police arrived.
The suspect was detained and is now being prosecuted.
Police are requesting that anyone who saw the event, has video, or has dashcam footage get in touch with them.
