Prior to their matchup with Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16, Paris Saint-Germain has suffered a significant setback. Kylian Mbappe has been ruled out of the match due to a thigh injury, the club announced on Thursday, 2 February, with the game scheduled for the evening of February 14.
In the first half of Wednesday’s 3-1 victory at Montpellier, one of PSG’s top players, Mbappe, staggered off the field. From February 4 to February 19, PSG is scheduled to play five matches. The France international is expected to miss the match against Bayern as well as their French Cup last-16 match against Olympique de Marseille.
Kylian Mbappe “suffered an injury to the left thigh at the level of the femoral biceps,” PSG reported after the player underwent examinations. Sergio Ramos, a defender for PSG, was also substituted during the game on Wednesday due to adductor pain; however, he will undergo more testing on Thursday to establish the severity of his injury.
On Wednesday, PSG increased its advantage in Ligue 1 to five points. On Saturday, PSG will host Toulouse. The Ligue 1 winners dominated the game with possession and attacking play as Lionel Messi scored in the 72nd minute.
