Following the uproar surrounding the Phillip Schofield scandal, This Morning has been nominated for best daytime programme at the National Television Awards.
After admitting to a “unwise but not illegal” connection with a younger male coworker on the show, Schofield, 61, resigned from ITV and was terminated by his talent agency YMU in May.
While MPs have urged ITV executives to address allegations of toxicity and bullying behind the scenes, Holly Willoughby, who hosted the show with Schofield starting in 2009, has continued to do so with a variety of co-stars.
The Chase, Loose Women, and The Repair Shop will be the competition for the program’s midday crown.
Along with fellow This Morning hosts Alison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary, Rylan Clark, and Martin Lewis, Schofield and Willoughby were on the long list for the best TV presenter award; however, only Hammond and Lewis were selected.

They will face off against Bradley Walsh from The Chase and Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly from The Traitors, who won the prize last year for the 21st consecutive year.

The nominations honour Dame Deborah James and Paul O’Grady posthumously. Dame Deborah is nominated for Bowelbabe In Her Own Words in the category for authored documentaries.
The Bowelbabe Cancer Research Fund was founded by Dame Deborah, who passed away this year at the age of 40 from bowel cancer.
After the TV host and comedian passed away earlier this year, O’Grady’s For The Love Of Dogs was added to the list of factual entertainment.
It will face off against The Martin Lewis Money Show Live, Sort Your Life Out, and Clarkson’s Farm.

I’m A Celebrity and The Real World are the two programmes up for the Bruce Forsyth entertainment award. Take Me Away From Here! as well as Saturday Night Takeout.
The two have stated they will stop working on the latter show following its 20th season in 2024.
Gogglebox and The Masked Singer are also nominated, and the best talent show category includes Britain’s Got Talent, Strictly Come Dancing, The Great British Bake Off, and The Great British Sewing Bee.
This year, Piers Morgan is up for the TV interview prize in a brand-new category alongside Louis Theroux Interviews…, The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show, and The Graham Norton Show for Piers Morgan Uncensored on Talk TV.

James Norton and Sarah Lancashire from Happy Valley will compete against one another in the drama performance category alongside Brenda Blethyn from Vera, Judy Parfitt from Call the Midwife, and India Amarteifio for her work in the Bridgerton prequel Queen Charlotte.
Along with Stranger Things, Call The Midwife, and Vera, the Happy Valley climax is competing for the returning drama award.
Along with the Death in Paradise spinoff Beyond Paradise, the police thriller Blue Lights, and the internet blockbuster Wednesday, featuring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams from the Addams Family, Netflix’s Queen Charlotte is honoured in the new drama category.
Bobby Brazier, a recently confirmed Strictly Come Dancing candidate, is up for a newbie award for his work as Freddie Slater on EastEnders. He is up against Benjamin Chivers for The Devil’s Hour, Channique Sterling-Brown for Coronation Street, and Lewis Cope from Emmerdale.
The National Television Awards’ final round of voting is now live, and the winners will be revealed on September 5 at an event hosted by Joel Dommett at The O2.
