Authorities in Minnesota were looking for three men who vanished from a fishing boat in the Mississippi River on Tuesday.
According to the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, a man was reported to have fallen into the river while fishing close to the town of Red Wing, where the Vermillion and Mississippi rivers meet, at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
The two other males went into the river, according to the authorities, in an effort to save him. The caller claimed that none of the males came back.
Just before 9 o’clock, the search was suspended; it was picked up again Tuesday morning. A number of nearby jurisdictions’ rescue teams are assisting in the search.
