Three kids were discovered with significant stab wounds, and a woman has admitted to trying to kill them.
A four-year-old girl, a two-year-old boy, and a three-month-old infant boy were found injured at a home in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, earlier this year. The 34-year-old was then detained.
In front of Leeds Crown Court via video link on Friday, she entered a plea of guilty to three counts of attempted murder.
After a psychiatric evaluation, two specialists concurred that the defendant “did not suffer with the legal definition of insanity” and was fit to plead, according to Abdul Iqbal KC, the defendant’s attorney.
However, both had recommended a hospital order as the proper punishment because they had both agreed she was “labouring under mental health problems when she committed these acts,” according to Mr. Iqbal.
The defendant was informed by Judge Geoffrey Marson KC that her sentence will be rendered at a later time once additional pre-sentence reports had been created.
She was kept in custody up until that point.
